This morning we were split into groups of three and four by using the lolly stick technique. Depending on what colour or picture or lolly stick was put each of us into our individual groups. An envelope was then passed around that included different teaching strategies. It was up to our group to pick two random teaching strategies to then go off and research then present what are the negative and positive of these strategies to the rest of the class. The different teaching strategies our group had were “Assignments & Projects” and “Tutorials”. We then split into our groups to discuss what the negative and positives are of our chosen teaching strategies. When we listed the pros and cons for each strategy we then put together a presentation using PowerPoint. When it came to presenting out strategy one student focused on talking about the strategies, one spoke about the positives and I spoke about the negatives. After our chosen slides we then spoke about how we would fit these teaching strategies in with our chosen subject.
I felt more comfortable speaking about my chosen subject than talking about the negatives as I felt that I was repeating myself.
After this presentation another student told me that she felt comfortable when I spoke to the class and that I came across confidant and could understand me well.
