Throughout the Dick Whittington performances the whole cast are aware that on one of the nights a local agent will be coming to watch. This agent is good friends with our director which i think is very lucky for us all as the normal thing to get a agent to watch a show is to buy them two tickets and invite them to wath. Most of the time they dont come. Sam (the agent) is also our directors agent. Our director has told us a lot of information about this agent and the day came to when we were told when she was going to visit!
On the night of the performance i did not feel nervous. If anything i felt excited to show this person my talent and what i can bring to the stage! I went on that stage more villain than i thought i could be and brought a lot of laughs to the venue! When the show ended, it happened. I was so nervous. I sat there at my dressing table, waiting.
And waiting
And waiting....
Then she came! ...... our director not the agent.
I kept my cool just in case. You never know the agent might hate you! Our director announced that it was a great show and sam enjoyed it. That was it. Nothing else was said she just carried on in conversation with someone else as i just sat there thinking did i do something wrong? "Hayley, Sam thought you were brilliant and that you owned the stage."
YES!
Safe to say i felt proud. I cannot wait to tell my students. Just goes to show hard work does pay of and now i have been signed!
