Today has been such an exciting day with the performing arts students. Myself and my mentor have choreographed two routines to
Skid Row - Little Shop of Horrors
Candy Store- Heathers The Musical
Aswell as these two numbers the students have also completed another musical number.
Coffee in a cardboard cup- Mandy Patinkin (The World Goes Around)
The students have been putting together routines for their next upcoming variety show. This variety shows is so that the students aim for grades that is for their unit 15 module. They also have the task to come up with their own pieces. Such as solo, duet, trios or group pieces, which will then be performed in an audition with myself, my mento and possibly another member of staff.
Unfortunatly from the incident that happened last week with a particular student, she has now been withdrawn from the course. This has made me feel uncomfortable as i think the "argument" was not major and could of been solved easily in a mature way. As this was my first situation with a student i somehow feel responsible that she has lost her place but i also know that it is also preperation for other situations that may happen in the future. Saying this, the group now seem a lot more focused which is a positive but we can not say this is because of the withdrawn student. I am hoping that the students have returned from their christmas break with a positive and professional attitude and want to work to reach their goals. As the students have this postive attitude throughout the sessions it gives myself and my mentor a positval attitude also which makes us all enjoy our time within the lessons. It has been a plessure to work with our students today as they have worked their hardest so far. I am hoping this will progress in the future lessons.
