In this session with the performing arts students it was time to choreography a routine for their opening number of Cinderella. The track originally came from Jack and The Beanstalk but fits in quite nicely with this pantomime as the music changes throughout to introduce different types of characters. This made the choreography easy as we split the students with appropriate characters to perform with. As this is a long number i stressed to the group that we need a lot of attention and focus within this rehearsal as a opening number is the only chance performers get to grab the audiences attention. I explained that it is important to have 100% professional positive attitude as the negative can have an effect on performances. The students agreed and joined in when we started with a warm up. We have been having some issues with one particular student as she seems to find any excuse to leave a session and it is starting to become a issue. When looking at this students group profile we can see that she is at high risk so we need to be careful and aware how we treat her as she can be quite sensitive at times. This student seems to have an attatchment with me as she finds any excuse to come talk to me at break times, it can be uncomfortable at times but i know to keep a professional attidue with her and keep a distance. As long as she knows/i keep her aware of the the barriers between teacher and a student there should be nothing to worry about. A positive for this is that i know i can talk to her when she is having one of her moments in the sessions.
