Specialist Conference

One of my peers picked me up and we were ready to go to the conference which is at the Forge building next to Darlington College. This was fine as we travel to Darlington College for our placement and uni lessons anyway. As we turned up to the conference free tea and coffee were served but silly us we thought we missed them and bought our own, to then go up stairs to find free tea and coffee! This is an essenial bevereage for us teachers as it gives us the boost to do our job.....

Anyway, the conference started with everyone split into their specialist subject groups. As two of us in our class have the same specialist subject we stayed together and were put with other students that are based in Teesside campus and Stockton Riverside. As soon as we started we both noticed that we were the only Performing Arts teachers in that class and were starting to feel a bit worried that we will not pick anything up from this conference as the others had studied Art, textstyles and Architecture. When we individually started to show our own creative resource i could see that everyone had put a lot of thought into it but unfortunatly we both struggled with how we would use the resources within our classes. As most were Art students we were shown resources that could help the way they draw. I thought about using these resources to help my Production Arts class as they do sometimes sketch up drawings of the stage and set.

By the end we were split into smaller groups to come up with our own resource. Me and my peer incorportated out resources to make one big one which we both felt quite proud of.

When it came to the exhibition we had a lot of students and teachers that seemed fond and impressed with our resource. They had a lot of questions for us to answer, tried it out which seemed to work and even took some photos.

I will definitley be using our creative resource as it will fit well with my performing arts students.
