Today me and my little boy spent the whole day together! It was brilliant. Even thought i knew i had some work to do i made sure that i would not do any today as i need to spend some quality time with my son. We started the day feeding the ducks at the park which he loves as he knows he can sneak some bread in his mouth! He is funny to watch as i am trying to show him to rip little pieces to feed the ducks but because he is young and gets excited the ducks were getting a full piece of bread thrown in the face! At least hes being generous.
Unfortunatly when we went into the "yellow" park i noticed three young boys on the climbing frame that were swearing. As soon as they saw my little boy they reminded each other not to do that infront of a small child but when i looked the second time i noticed one had a knife. The first thing i did was ring the police as i dont think it is fair for young children to bring "weapons" like that into a park filled with younger children, especially my little boy! I told the police a description of the boys and then later had a phonecall with thanks and praise that i had passed the information to them as they caught two boys that had knifes each. I had only seen one! I then learnt that they were 11 and 13 years of age. Just makes you think what has changed over the years? Is that where behaviour management is wrong within schools or is it home life ?
