Split Groups and adapt Miss , Mrs and Ms script

Todays session consisted of the performing arts devising their next production called "Uneducated". This show is about the typical life in a school from a teachers and students point of few. Myself and Matt, the programme leader for this course have been given the students stimulus's to devise their own pieces. As my session is 9-10:20 on a Wednesday morning i remembered that i had wrote my own script when attending university. This script is about teachers at a school and i thought it would be a good idea to bring it into the lesson to give our students an idea what we would like them to put together.

We started with a read through of the script and had students taking turns to read different characters.

I then split the class up into groups and chose different scenes for them to work on. This let the students experiment with movement and blocking. It also helped them trigger what else would be a good devised piece to go in this production.

Im glad that i used this piece of material within this session as i could tell by the end of the lesson how much it had helped them understand what we need them to come up with for the production.
