CV Guest

Today we had a guest speaker to come into our class to talk to us about CVS and Personal Statements. The lady presented a PowerPoint with information that could help us create our CVS and make them look more professional.

One point I did not know about is that on a CV we do not have to put down the grades we have gained for our qualifications. I am glad about this as I have seven GSCE'S all at a C grade and do not like to include this as I think a workplace would rather have someone that has gained higher grades. I have now edited my CV and have my GCSE's included but have not included what grades I have received. Although I have included my Musical Theatre diploma grade and also my Degree as I gained top marks for both qualifications. I think this is what a workplace would look at mainly as it shows how much knowledge you have of this topic.

I did find this session useful at some points but I do wish that we had this session at the beginning or the middle of the year as I know that myself and some others within the class have already been applying for jobs and have also gained a position somewhere.
