Earlier in the week I happened to bump into my Dad when food shopping. This was a massive shock to me as I have no seen my Dad in about seven years. It was good to see him as we were able to chat about what we have been up to and also arranged a time to meet up properly so he can also meet my son.
Today we finally met up for lunch at The Anson Farm were we had a Sunday dinner and a nice catch up. I told him about training as a teacher, working at Darlington College and also working for a production company. He was very impressed with the amount of work I have completed and has also asked if he can come to watch one of our next productions.
I felt really proud of myself when after meeting my Dad. I haven't really thought about how much I have progressed from the beginning of the year up until now. I feel very confident with my teaching position at Darlington College and that I have achieved to work at a Production company as well as family life.
This day has also made me think to keep looking for any more opportunities for teaching as I want to gain more experience and gain a bigger position within education. To do this I may look into working as a full time Performing arts tutor at a college and also look at any masters or postgraduate courses within the area. The reason I want to look at a masters or postgraduate course is so I can increase my knowledge of performing arts. If I do this I will feel more comfortable and professional when teaching as well as feeling more confident.
