In this weeks Employability the Production Arts students are off site on another project. This means that I only have the Performing Arts students within the session. As we are behind with Employability this gave me a good chance to have these students up to date with work as in most sessions both classes have been becoming distracted with each other.
The task for this week was for the students to create three skills graphs. Employment skills, Performance skills and professional skills.
This task was created so that the students are able to identify what skills and techniques are vital for all three categories. The reason why these skills were chosen is that the students will come across these skills in employment and working in a performing arts industry.
A tutor can also use this task to see where their students think they are. Therefore the tutor could then help the students build up on these skills throughout the year and have a good idea which student may need the most help.
An idea for next lesson is to create action plans. These action plans will determine what the student thinks they should do to reach their target.
