As I work for Darlington College as well as AJ Productions I am able to ask one workplace to help the other if needed. This is a good opportunity for the college as the students are able to work with a professional company and use this as work experience.
I have now found out that the college will be using the new refurbished Majestic Theatre in Darlington for their productions. This is another great opportunity for the students as they will now experience working in a professional theatre.
AJ Productions are now looking for a new venue to hold their next pantomime at Christmas. I was able to pass on the news of the new theatre to our boss at AJ which has then visited the theatre in person to have a look around and possibly see if we could use the theatre for the pantomime. My mentor is now the Theatre manager at the Majestic, so he was also able to meet her and show her around.
AJ and my Mentor agreed that we could hold the pantomime at the Majestic. It felt good that I was able to arrange this for both of my workplaces. My mentor was pleased that the theatre now has a production company using their venue as this will bring in audiences, therefore bring in money and also my boss from AJ was happy to find a new beautiful theatre.
Another positive about working at The Majestic Theatre is that we will be the only professional pantomime in Darlington as the Civic has now closed.
