Weeks extension after car crash

Unfortunately this week I had been involved in a car crash when driving to my mums to pick my son up. I had been very lucky in this situation as I only came out with a scratch and a mild case of whip lash.

I had taken the day off as I was in a bit of shock from the incident but this also resulted in me thinking about all of the work that I need to complete by the hand in date.

As I have been finding it hard to complete work because of all the other responsibilities I have, my attitude seems to have turned negative which has also made me feeling down by worrying about the hand in date.

Luckily as we do have supportive tutors I was able to ask for a weeks extension to complete my essay. By doing this I was able to finish my essay before my extension and I used the extra time to complete more of my portfolio work.

I do not remember feeling like this when I attended Teesside University for my Performance degree but I'm sure students in similar situations do. As a teacher this has made me think more about listening to our students if they have any worries to do with any assessments. I am going to find out what procedure to head towards if a student is needing extra help with their work.
